Ken Slinde - November, 2023
Ken Slinde, like many of us, thinks his life was pretty perfect in the 1950s and 1960s. Then the Vietnam War disrupted his and our country’s peace. After college he joined the U.S. Army and served stateside at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. There, he worked in a medical lab, studying the heart’s reaction to paratrooping. He gives credit to his time in the Army for his later life of service as a volunteer driver for the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
Bill Kwasny - October, 2023
Bill Kwasny is a retired First Lieutenant Construction Officer with the US Army and was on active duty during the peak of the Vietnam war in the mid-1960s. In this interview recorded September 2023, Bill's story reveals his early college years in the ROTC and then proudly enlisting in the Army before the draft would surely have taken him. His time across the sea didn’t turn out as he had hoped, yet he did what he was told to do; a mantra he lives by even to this day.
By the way, for those of you interested in the techie side of video production, watch this beyond the ending "Resources" credits.
